Temeka R. Johnson grew up in Kenner, Louisiana. She graduated from Bonnabel, HS in Kenner, Louisiana in 2000. Temeka was All-State at Bonnabel in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. Temeka’s high school basketball record was 111-20. Temeka also graduated from Louisiana State University, LSU in 2004. Her college record was just as impressive as her high school record. Temeka broke the LSU career assist record and won the Nancy Lieberman point guard of the year award. She was ALL SEC First team 2004 and 2005. She was also SEC tournament MVP in 2003.

Temeka went on to play 11 years in the WNBA and was rookie of the year in 2005. She was a member of the Phoenix Mercury who won the 2009 WNBA championship. She has also played abroad from 2005-2016. In 2011, Temeka won the Fiba Euro Cup Championship.

Temeka Johnson is a champion both on and off the court. The love that she has for basketball is paralleled with the love she has for helping others. Temeka developed the H.O.P.E. foundation in 2008. The organization has adopted schools, nursing homes, donated shoes, and books. Temeka is a published author who has been highlighted in ESPN, Times Picayune and even the White House Blog. More than a basketball player, Temeka Johnson is voice of H.O.P.E.
